OCCASION communication
Within OCCASION there are various means in which the project members can
communicate with each other. Some of these means are an extension of the way
communication is done in the Silk project, some are entirely new. This page
provides information with regard to all (Silk and OCCASION) communication
means:
- Distribution lists: the
university of Groningen hosts a number of email distribution lists. In
order to be able to post to the list and/or receive information from the
list you have to be a member of the list. The OCCASION Board
representative decides whether a person is entitled to be a member of
one of the Silk/OCCASION distribution lists.
- VoIP
communication: there are two VoIP systems available for
the Silk/OCCASION community. a dual (DESY and UCL) node Call Manager and
a SIP server at UCL. At this moment the Call Manager is mostly being
used for the internal VoIP communication.
- Video Conferencing: all Silk
countries have a video conferencing unit and through the MCU at DESY
video conferences are organised.
- Audio Conferencing: there are
regular audio conferences of the managing group of Silk and OCCASION.
For these conferences the CISCO teleconferencing system is used.
